Kuga Automatic gearbox service?

Featured Replies

I've heard the auto gearbox in my 65reg mk2 Kuga needs a service at 40K ? Could someone please confirm this ? & if it does where's the best place Ford dealer or Independent?

Mine is a 2017 2ltr and I was told 37500 miles. Cost me about £350 at main dealer. Oil cost £170 and the rest was labour.

I wasn’t aware that I needed one every 3 years so only just had one. Well, that’s what the garage thought I needed but unfortunately it didn’t do the trick. I needed a new gearbox. It’s a Kuga 2.0 diesel 2014 plate and kept jerking when setting off from a junction or on a slight incline. Luckily I’d taken out the extended warranty and it’s a lot better, but hubby and I think it’s still not quite right. Anyone else had this problem?

I had a service 2 weeks ago in a Ford Dealership, it cost £629 for the service and a gearbox service including a filter. The gearbox cost £430 including oil and filter. I was told the oil was over £230 and the filter £50. Last year I was quoted a price of £350 for the gearbox service. How can something go up by £80 in a year. I paid £39 for brake fluid to be changed. I was told this had to be done every 2 years. The service on the gearbox every 3 years, or approx 38000 miles. I drive a Ford Kuga Auto. I,ve had other auto cars, Volvo S60,s and have never had the gearbox oil changed, I was never advised to have the gearbox oil changed with Volvo. How does it cost so much, how long does it take to drain the oil, change the filter on a Ford auto gearbox? Why has it got to be changed every 3 years, the cost is astronomical for this service.
