Epb Seized whilst garage replaced pads

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I'm looking for advise. I booked cmax yesterday to have the rear brake pads changed at my local garage

The garage tolded me they've replaced the pads but the epb has Seized. There was no issue with the epb before the repair.

My questions
They say that this can happen when changing the pads, is this true or common?

Have they not done something right before changing the pads?

Is a new epb really £1300, can I get a refurb?

Should I ask that they repair/replace the epg for free?

The car is still in the garage. They are trying to source the reconditioned epb

I really wanna keep the car but it looks like it will cost be more than its worth. I appricate any help

Many thanks
Adam

There is a service procedure for the hand brake if this is not followed damage can happen.
