Sync and sat nav update... confused!

Featured Replies

Hi I am new here but cant find the answer to my question so am after a little help.

I have a 2016 Kuga titanium x sport and i think its sync 2 with sat nav

The SD card in it says F5 on it, and when i log in here https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/ it says i am up to date.

I cant figure out if that means just the SYNC is up to date and i need to buy a new SD card for my maps or if it updates the maps as well and i need to do nothing? or do i need to buy an SD card if so is it a V9 i need?

Sd cards can only be replaced as they don't update on sync2 unlike the sync3 system where the map data is stored on the media unit itself and updated via usb.

The check you're carrying out is only for the system software.

The latest sd card available that will go into your car is F8.
