 hi ive  got a 2006 cmax 2ltr auto lov ely little motor but im having to put 1ltr of oil in her  roughlyevery 500 miles she doesnt smoke .

 

there is no evidence of any oil in coolent  and got no leeks she runs spot on doesnt over heat lovely runner my mechanic  reckons ford made some of these engines that go poorous has anybody had or heard or got similar problem would appreciate your help thank you



I doubt that porosity would account for 1L of oil per 500 miles without there being some evidence of leaking or burning off

If you are absolutely sure there is no evidence of leakage then it is either all still in the block somewhere or being burned off.

Lack of smoke does not eliminate oil being burnt regularly in small quantities - I would have said it is the piston rings failing and letting oil through to the combustion chamber - is it a high mileage engine?

As above if the block was porous then there would be a evidence of a leak, rings are the most likely culprit and possible the turbo,
