new MAF sensor but still going into limp mode

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently put a new MAF sensor into my 2012 ford cmax 2.0 tdci, however it is still coming up with the engine malfunction service now warning and then going into limp mode, about a week after my alternator went and today i drove it for the first time since coming out of the garage, i asked them to programme the new sensor however i don't believe they have (or if they need to?) i drove it today and it seemed to pick up a bit more however when i tried to get some extra power it went straight into limp mode again, any ideas as to what i can do? i brought the sensor from eurocar parts at a cost of £95, any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Assuming you have had it fault read? What were the codes. Maf sensor short to ground, mad sensor out of range, iet sensor out of range??

Take it back and buy a proper one if it's definitely MAF at fault, the cheap HAAS ones are crap.

This n all. IF it is a maf fault and you haven't just guessed why the light is on. In genral aftermarket mafs are indeed *****. In fact when mine went I opted for a second hand unit. [emoji23]

I went through 3 cheap MAF's on my mondeo, finally bit the bullet and  bought a genuine example, try un plugging the MAF if it runs ok then its the MAF
