Ka 1.3 TDCi opportunity?

Featured Replies

Hello, as an avid diesel aficionado and Ford owner, I've been looking into buying a Ka 1.3 TDCi as a little pocket rocket project car as they're only really a couple of grand. Upon doing some research, I found that its main limiting factor is the petrol gearbox through which the engine runs, ultimately limiting the amount of torque that can be squeezed out of it.

I've been on here recently about my Focus 109, and am in the process of getting her to about 170hp with DPF still attached (currently at ~140hp/305nm) and I'd basically just like to know what I can do to the Ka without blowing it apart. No-one seems to be tuning the 1.3 Multijet so I've not really a basis on which to start other than a limited-torque map to about 110hp and 200nm.

Any tips on strengthening up the gearbox or rest of car would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

Try a fiat forum , as basically it's a fiat 500.
