Wobbly Backrest

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have just bought a "T" reg Mondeo Estate ST24. I have a problem with the front drivers seat backrest. It is the half leather trim and electric seat, the problem is the backrest wobbles from side to side as you go round bends and corners etc, I dont know if there is something loose and can be tightened, or it's something to do with electric seat mechanism.

Can anyone help please?

not sure if u can tighten the hinge mechanism where the back joins the base of the seat. remove the trim that covers it to see if u can. i assume its definitely the back and not the whole seat.

Hi

Yes it's definetly just the backrest when you try to move the base with you're hand all is solid.

ok try to see if the trim can be removed from where the back and base of the seat join. u should be ableto remove the adjustment knob for the recline of thseats. just occured to me that all adjustment might be electric, in which case, removal of seat may be a better option. this will also give u easier access to components.
