Replacing ECU KIT

Featured Replies

A couple of weeks ago my 2008 2.0 TDCi Hatchback died on me and my mechanic is informing me that its an ECU issue with also a fault code showing CANBUS error.  for this reason he is keen to repalce the ECU kit.  I have searched on EBay and only ECU kits available for listing come with Flip blade key barrell.  My key barrell takes a fixed blade type key.  Can I repplace a fixed blase barrell with a flip or not.  The reason I am asking is because one advert says:

"NOTE THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOURS IS THE FLIP KEY , NOT THE FIXED BLADE TYPE"

Also....There is an ECU kit listed with same Part number as mine but it has a snazzy Convers+ dash.  Is it an option to buy one of these kits and upgrade my standard dash to the Convers+ without any compatibility issues?

Please can you give me your thoughts?
