Ford Immobillizer Problems.

Featured Replies

Mondeo MK2 1996 H/Back 1998cc Zetec. The Anti-Theft has started to not recognize the key and then next day it will. Now failed altogether. Keeps indicating Code for not recognized key. Tried all three keys and tried opening drivers door with key and holding open for 20secs, no change. Have removed Steering Column shrouds to expose Key Transponder held key against this, no change. Have now removed grey panel above drivers footwell, can now see two box units, one is grey metal partially covered by black plastic box. On the removed cover there is a small electrical box about 50mmx50mm which appears to be able to slide off cover (not tried yet) just to be able to get cover panel out of the way. Can anyone help with identifying the two boxes and also say where the PATS (Securilock) Module is located I have been unable to trace this item. The Haynes Manual do'es not show wiring location of PATS. I know it's an old car but I love it. All suggestion welcome. Any info regarding Securilock System welcome.

Transponder sensors on wheel DO fail! Try a new one before digging any deeper

Interesting reading here: (one guy with a mk2 replaced the coil and is now OK, read on..)

Thanks for info Nick, will try new Transponder, it will have to be a used one and hard wired, no pins. Where do'es it connect to. Is there a separate PATS module for this damn system, if so, where is it hiding. The transponder holding screw is hiding at present.

Cheers again

Mick
