Slow seatbelt retraction

Featured Replies

I tried the search but just came back with loads of threads re "seatbelt alarm" . I want to know if anybody else suffers with oh so slow seatbelt retraction when you remove it. It's irritating like a sloth slowly climbing back into its tree. Does anybody have a fix?

I'll be paying attention to this thread because the drivers seat belt retraction on my MK2 Focus could also be described as being like a sloth so if there's a quick way of improving it I'll definitely be following suit!

Have you tried spraying something slippery on the belt?  I've done it with dash shine in the past, just make sure it's nothing with colour in it...especially if you wear a white shirt!

I had an old Peugeot that did this. I pulled the belt out as far as it would go. Sat it in bowl of water & washing powder. Then I used a microfiber cloth to ring out the dirt/dirt/broken dreams that had built up over the years. Took a couple of attempts, but it sorted it out well.

I'll be trying this first. I've now seen a couple of utubes. 👍
