05 tdci 130 mk3 speed impulse keeps vanishing - ignition on/off resets

Featured Replies

One of Monty's problems is speed / distance impulse stops every minute or so - stopping engine whilst driving (clutch down) and then bump starting restores all speed / distance displays - replace front o/s abs sensor and abs hub to no avail

ABS light will always come on once first driving above 25 mph - before that the ABS is active right down to a full stop when brake lightly pushed - again suggesting speed impulse corruption (ABS can even just be detected sub 25 mph with ABS warning on) - fuses appear ok

Has all worked fine for years up to this - may have first started when driving through nearside large puddle - if i remember correctly, that is when the ABS started playing up

Would love to find a cheap solution as car has been great (now 180000 miles) and is so powerful

thx

another reference: https://talkford.com/community/topic/154337-speedo-not-working-cluster-or-speed-sensor-at-fault/page-1 - I have just replaced the battery and since there is conflicting info as to if a 'calcium' battery is required...i am still no clearer - really dont see how battery construction would effect such things?

Hey, I read that talkford link, and I'm sure it says the speedo pulse is taken from the FRONT N/S ABS SENSOR, not the front o/s one you said you've changed...some mistake?
