Fuel Injectors

Featured Replies

Hi peeps,

I have a mondeo mk3 2.0 injection 03 reg,

A friend put his computer on it which came up with an injection fault,

Dose all 4 injectors have to be replaced or may it be only 1 ?

Many thanks Barry

Impossible to say really from a distance, however if only 1 is failing, then the rest won't be far behind it so worth while just doing the lot while you're at it.

Hi Welcome

Hang on! I've got an '02 Mondeo... there's 2 fault codes for injectors and that's a knock sensor threshold thing... P233x where x=injector number.... the only way to clear that code is to re-enter the injector code, and the other one is when the PCM sees an open-circuit like if you unplug the connector. Trouble with the codes, is they're not date-stamped so could be years old! Best thing is to clear the codes and see which ones come back. This doesn't apply to the P233x codes which once set you can't  clear them without re-entering the code. For instance,  I had a P2338, but cleared the fault (by re-entering the code for injector #3) and it ran fine again.  so don't condemn any injectors till you give us the full story, and maybe do a leak-off test. Any Q?s  just ask.
