Burning smell!

Featured Replies

Hi,

yesterday after a run of about 15 miles I got home and stopped outside the house and there was a smell of burning rubber which seemed to be evident not outside but once I opened the rear drivers door, anyone any ideas? Have had this before but quite a while ago now.

Cheers for that Jim,will keep in mind

How old is your car ?  I got this smell when mine was between 3 and 6 months old. I believe it was the painted coating on  the inside of the exhaust pipe outlet chrome covers. The paint on mine has since gone all rough and looks blistered. No smell now though.

Strangely enough i noticed a burning rubber smell when i got out of my Edge the other evening

I had done around a 25 mile drive

Not noticed the smell since though
