MK4 Puddle light upgrade?

Featured Replies

Anyone found an upgrade  to the standard puddle lights that actually fit?

I found some on-line that fitted the hole but were just a few mm too tall and wouldn't latch. The way they were constructed made it pretty impossible to adapt.

I've just bought the Autobeam LED 501 puddle light unit thinking it would just be a case of changing the bulbs in the puddle unit. However after removing the puddle unit, it looks like its the unit is sealed and the whole thing needs replaced. Unless there's a way of getting the cover off?

Opening the puddle lights requires cutting. The units are completely sealed and in case of a defective bulb or to replace the bulbs for LED's the units need to bereplaced or cut and resealed.

Ford has used different versions of these sealed puddle lights with bulbs or yellowish LED's for many years on several models.
