Unable to play own music - Ford KA Metal 2011

Featured Replies

I recently got myself a KA Metal (2011) and have been enjoying it so far. However, when it comes to playing music, it's radio or CD.

There is a USB port in the car which appears to do nothing, it neither detects a phone or an actual USB stick with files on it (doesn't output power either). And the Bluetooth appears to be for calls only.
I'm surprised the car doesn't come with an AUX port as an option, which is a basic feature on most cars.

So far I've just listened to the radio as I go along, and I don't own any CDs as it's 2020 and everyone has some form of music streaming service (Spotify etc).

I was wondering if this is a fixable issue, either by getting new parts, an AUX instead of a USB, or is it worth getting a whole new stereo for the car from somewhere like Halfords?

If anyone has any suggestions on what can be done, or if anyone has had a similar situation, please let me know!
I have done a big of searching (Googling), and this issue has been brought up before, but never answered fully!
