Mk3 alternator brushes replacement anyone?

Featured Replies

Hi All! The mk3 uses a Visteon alternator,  and there's strangely nothing on the Web about changing the brushes, tho' there's plenty about Valeo and Bosch alternators on youtube. Has anyone managed to change them on their own? New brushes ARE for sale on ebay but no instructions.

Well, I removed the top and regulator board and this is what I can see. No screws holding in the brushes holder but apart from that dunno where to go next without  breaking something vital.. Anyone else been this bold (or bolder?) 🙂
