Guide to the 2015 Ford Mondeo

Featured Replies

Hello,

As the title suggests, I would like to buy a 2015 1.5 Petrol Mondeo (EU), and I would like to ask your help about any common issues or what to look for before buying a 2015 Mondeo. Currently I have a 2006 Ford Focus 1.4 hatchback.

Thanks in advance!

The 2015 Mondeo is currently facing a big problem with the bolts that hold the power steering motor, they are breaking and you are left with a £1800 bill to fix it. Ford issued a recall in the USA but not here, not yet anyway.

I am admin on the most active UK Mk5 Mondeo Facebook page, this and many more things are discussed. If you join and ask the same question there then you will get lots of information.

Thank you, reading about it just now.. It seems like a huge issue.. But some state that it have been fixed from 2015/03 till present vehicles. Is it true?

Potentially, we are still trying to get more data together so I wouldn't like to say for certain. I'm doubtful that it's as early as that.

Also don't forget it's not date of registration, it's the date it came off the production line. I've seen '65 plates with failing bolts.

If you are buying from a dealer then get them to change the bolts before you buy it, or at least get them to inspect them and let you know if they are aluminium or steel.

Thank you this was really helpful!

As in my case 😉 I don't do facebook (deleted it years ago), so have a dummy account for just whinging at companies, and random stuff.

You might even know who I am on there by now haha

It's a great group though

Well I don't know who you are on the group (at least yet haha), so can't deny nor confirm lol. But most likely someone else, the closest I've come to having a go at someone (which really wasn't having a go) was for nonchalantly claiming that the 6F35 gearbox didn't need any oil changes for it's life time. But good to have you on there as I'd say you're probably one of the few people on there with actual technical knowledge, going by your posts in this forum
