Faulty Adaptive LED Headlights

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I own a 2015 Ford Mondeo Estate 2.0l Titanium with full adaptive LED headlights. They worked fine and brilliantly at first but I have noticed that they appear not to turn left. I thought it was just the left side not working but it appears that both L &R side not working and turning left with steering input. When driving and on the move it look as though they do turn left but not as much as they do when turning right. When I'm stationary and I'm parked in front of the garage, intern the steering right and the lights move but ther is no movement to the left. Is this common? Can it be a software reset? Something blocking the mechanism inside the headlight unit? Or something more sinister and expensive? Advise needed as this is very irritating and I do not want this to become a safety concern.

Hi. More news. Have checked the car settings in terms of left hand/right hand traffic. As it is a right hand drive car in the UK I believe I set it to left hand traffic. Anyhow, I did this and I can see a pattern emerge. When the setting g is in RH traffic then the lights go fully right with steering input with very little movement to the left. Vice versa when in LH traffic, they go fully left with steering input and very little to the right.

Is this a feature of the lights and how they are set up or should they turn in each direction in equal measure? I really dont want to spend lots of money to correct this. If it even needs correcting.

Help needed. Thanks guys

This is in a prior post:

This has a link https://youtu.be/BGSpE3KISDg which seems to suggest it is all done automatically.

If there is a problem with the headlight alignment, then an MOT will highlight this and it will usually mean the headlight(s) are adjusted for a pass at a good garage.

I have the same lights and mine appear to turn left and right equally when you turn the wheel clearly the beam pattern will alter with right and left handed drive but i would have thought they would throw a fault if there was something wrong.
