No 5th Gear

Hi all,

i have just finished fitting a new clutch and gear box to my 2011 Ford KA. I thought everything went to plan until it came to selecting 5th gear which I’m unable to do. I’ve tried adjusting the link rods but if I do that I’m able to select 5th but it then prevents me selecting 1st.

 

can anybody help me out?

    Make sure you haven't bent or broken the linkages, grease any parts that slide in the casing.

    I will double check everything tomorrow. It’s baffling me 😕

    Take it to a transmission specialist once you've checked the linkage, it may be something internal but without hearing the car I cant be certain.

     

    My nearest Automatic transmission shop looked over my father's 2007MY Toyota 4x4, found the fault and repaired for £100 as it didnt need an overhaul. 

     

    You may be cheaper to buy a second hand box from a working car. (Thus being worst case scenario)
