Driver's side window doesn't roll down

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

So my 2011 petrol 2.0 Mondeo has this problem - the driver's side window doesn't roll down when pressing the button. It only comes down like 1 cm and then stops. I bought the car in november so I can't say whether it's related to lower temperatures (the "winter" we're having this year is like 0- +5 C by far, though). Today I got it to roll down completely, but only after several trys and it didn't work correctly for 3 weeks.

Nothing worse than problems with electric windows because it can be numerous problems: Electric motor giving up - Motor lose  - Glass runner lose - Faulty switch - Sticking drive - Muck build up.

Only thing to do is remove the door panel and start from there to see if you can see anything.

Before tearing anything apart I would pop the switch, disconnect the plug and spray both the plug and the switch with electrical contact cleaner, it could be as simple as that, if still not right then remove the door card and do the same with the plug on the motor.
