Clicking Clutch Pedal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Don't know if this is normal but the clutch pedal seems to click every time it is pressed (about two thirds of the way down).

Anyone else have this same issue (if indeed it is an issue)

Thanks

normal  its a switch under the pedal

Ah Ok, a little annoying. I like a smooth pedal

I wonder if it is the switch. how much of a click is it?    My wife has a 2010 Mazda2. It has a clicky clutch pedal. This was a known issue on these Mazdas and many had some pedal parts replaced under warranty.  On modern cars the clutch pedal spring is arranged in such a way (that I have difficulty explaining well) - on the top half of the travel the spring is trying to pull the pedal up (like you would expect) but on the bottom half of the travel the spring is helping pull it down, to make the clutch feel lighter. when the spring goes past the centre point it shifts position slightly where it pivots. At least that is what causes it on our Mazda2, very annoying it is and grease etc does not seem to help (and it is difficult to get to).  some I am wondering if your is same kind of problem

Yes i agree. It is does not sound like a simple click. If anything a crunch noise. Don't think it is normal.
