C-max water issues

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have a 2005 Focus C-Max with I think a strange but worrying issue.

I've had the car about a year now, and has been pretty much trouble free, apart from the power steering pump which was leaking which I replaced as soon as I realised, and I believe is a common fault.

To the issue though, the interior water matrix was replaced by the previous owner, but have noticed on long journeys that the centre console just down from the gear shifter where it meets the floor that the side panel gets stinking hot, but I have not investigated this yet as I guess it requires removing most or the whole dashboard.

Well, as we in the UK have had some pretty awful weather as of late, with high winds and much rain, another issue has raised itself which is a little more worrying than burning my leg on a side panel, which is that every time a sharp corner is took at any speed, there is a disturbing swoosh of water coming from what appears inside the dashboard, and sounds like a large stream shooting left to right.

I have not driven the car through any deep puddles or any kind of flood.

I have had a look under the bonnet, taken the wipers off, removed the top plastic scuttle and checked the drains at the bulkhead, but they are all clear with no blockages.

The interior blower system works fine in all directions and temperatures, including the ac system

Has anyone else had this kind of water issue? and does this mean I need to strip out the dashboard, to investigate if there is water in the blower system?

Any help or suggestions will be gratefully received.
