Ford Edge 66plate Powertrain Fault

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Picked up my new to me Ford Edge yesterday,  had this warning light come up -

Powertrain Fault Light: If an issue is detected with the Ford SUV's AWD or powertrain, a dashboard symbol in the shape of a wrench will appear on its dashboard.

Noticed no problem when it appeared.  When restarted the car no sign of the symbol.  Appears that it commonly

doesnt throw a fault code for this.  Anyone had experience of this happening and what it might be?

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

It also means other things as well. Most common fault is the high pressure oil switch which puts the car into limp mode (i.e. virtually no acceleration). I had it and the oil pressure switch got changed under warranty and I've not had a  problem since.
