How do you turn navigation off (Ford Edge)

Featured Replies

Its on an 2017 Edge if that makes a difference but how the heck do you turn the sat nav off!   I've managed eventually but I couldn't tell you what button I pressed to achieve it.  It still tries to direct me even if I've come out of the navigation screen it displays on the top of the screen in a bar.

Use voice commands.

Press voice button then say-

"Navigation"

When the system says navigation back to you then say-

"Cancel Route"

Mmm, I’ve tried this and it isn’t working. When you say voice do you mean press the Phone button, then Siri? I’ve asked Siri to turn off navigation and it says we’re not navigating anywhere but the navigation thing hasn’t got that memo and is still trying to send me on a destination either verbally telling me to drive the highlighted route or the roads come up at the top of the bar on screen.

Voice button on the steering wheel.
Press once and when it chimes just say navigation.
When the system says navigation back to you say cancel route and it will ask you to confirm.

Have a read of the owners manual Hugo, it's got some really great stuff in there :thumbup:

Don’t be confused between voice control and Siri. If you have an iPhone (not connected with CarPlay) a long press of the talk button instigates Siri, a short single press instigates Sync voice control features.  If you are using an iPhone with CarPlay, even a short press of the voice button instigates Siri.

Not sure what you mean when you say turn sat nav off?

However if you mean cancel a route that you are following, however now dont want to, the easiest thing to do is..

Press the right hand arrow on the right side of the steering wheel..

A message comes up on the dash saying, "do you want to cancel routee"

Press the ok button in the middle of the arrows (right side of wheel again), and hey presto the route is cancelled

Hope thats helps, if this is what you meant...
