Hi all, 

First time poster so please bear with (I've done a search for similar threads but couldn't find anything that answered my query). 

I recently bought an Edge Sport and want a tow bar fitted so we can pull our trailer for camping holidays. I've spoken to my local Ford garage who have quoted almost £1,100 parts and fitting; almost double what I had expected. Towbarexpress.co.uk quote around £600 including fitting. 

I would prefer to go to the main dealer for peace of mind, but that's a lot of cash, so I wonder if anyone has any experience of the likes of towbar fitting specialists they could recommend (or not!) that's not going to cost a kidney!

I live in Essex if it makes any difference.

I think I've seen and replied to your post on Facebook ... There has been discussion on here before that discussed the install and in some cases prices paid, etc which might be of use ...

 

I would try another dealer or try and find a small independent (usually get 3rd party installer in) Ford dealer in your area (shop around, don't just accept 1 quote!)), you will save huge amounts on what you've already been quoted and if it's fitted by a Ford dealer, your warranty, etc should not be affected.

Oh well. Seems like a common query (from the "Ford Edge UK" group) ...
