Hi, I'm new to here but in need of some help please.

2006 Focus 1.8TDCI

Replacing the brake servo booster and have got as far as "removing the pin through the brake pedal" Haynes says gently pry out?? I can't get the blinking thing out, I can move it so far then it stops, are there any tips or tricks to achieving this, I have searched the interweb and YouTube and can't find any pointers, I can't give up now as I have everything stripped and this pin is eluding me, there must be a knack to it as it moves so far then stops.........
