2005 CMax jacking points..

Featured Replies

I've recently bought a 2005 1.6 Diesel C Max...it came without a spare wheel/tyre, just the rigid foam insert and a bottle of tyre sealant so I presume it originally had the full tyre repair kit. I've bought a ( Skinny) Space Saver spare tyre which has led to a search for the correct jacking points on the car. I've seen one manual which refers to arrow marks on the cills...not so in my case..no arrow marks on the cills.

There appear to be indentations in the underside of the cills, both sides front and back, but to be truthful I'm not sure if these are jacking points or where some dummy like me has just stuffed a scissor jack under the car to lift it. The indentations seem uniform on both sides and a few inches behind the front wheels and forward of the rear wheels where, being a "Wrinkly" I have always found jacking points on cars in the past, but when a car comes with a bottle of glue to fix a puncture, I'm beginning to wonder with more modern cars....

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

I'll have a look when it stops raining though my car is newer than yours so could be different, it's normally the crinkles bit on the sill seems.

Thanks, Pete. I know what you mean, there's no definite 'Crinkle' on these seams, they look pretty straight. I've had a search on various forums, US ones too. but apart from the mention of Arrow marks which I think were only put on some models, not on mine, there seems to be a mystery about the exact jacking point.

The jacking point on mine the side lift jack sort of hooks on, no arrows either

Ah!  That looks interesting, I will have a crawl around tomorrow ( Grandad duties permitting...)because I think the Cill seam on my CMax is similar. The photo really helped, I appreciate the help, thank you.
