I am looking to put a sync 2 head unit it to my 2013 focus but the new head unit is out of a 2015 16 car are the dashboard and wiring the same help please thankyou

    Sorry luke I bought my sync 2 but seems to have the wrong wiring harness with it can you help on best thing to do as can’t fit it directly so wondering what is wrong

    as your original unit never had sat-nav the wire loom will be diffrent and you`ll have no gps reciever in the car unless that was supplied with your sync 2 unit

    The picture of the SYNC 2 system only shows the center console wiring harness. All of the other required wiring seems to be missing.

    The SYNC 2 system has completely different wiring than your car. You either have to replace the complete dashboard wiring harness or buy/build yourself a custom made (aftermarket) adapter wiring harness.

    Apart from this the SYNC 2 system uses the GPSM module for GPS reception. Vehicles without SYNC 2 do only have a GPSM module if they are equipped with Emergency Assistance.

    There are several sellers on Ebay, Amazon and AliExpress that sell 4" (SYNC 1) to 8" SYNC 2 / SYNC 3) adapter wiring harnesses. For example:
