Hi . The 2015 sync 2 car I got came with no sd card  in armrest.

Any web pages I check says I need sd card serial number , 

I'm going away next week and was hoping  to get card .

 

Is there a way to find out serial number without sd card. 

Is there a site I can download  the new uk maps (non ford  site)

And what android program do I use for serial number and is it just drag and drop .

 

Suppose I'm asking , what do I need and how do I do it . 

 

I have a sync 3 unit to fit soon . That will be another story lol

All you need to do is insert a nav card, end of.
No serial numbers are needed.
As long as you have navigation enabled then the card is all you need.

If you have a sync3 unit to fit soon.  why waste money on a sdcard?

I'm going away in 5 days . So no time to do it . 

 

I dont want to buy a sd card , I want to  make one . 

So need links to maps and  the android program for making key file.

There was a few drop boxes with files in them on this site but they are now dead

 

When I install sync 3 I will need to update maps on that aswell 

The files were removed as they are copyright protected.
It's ok to make a copy of your own card for a back up spare but not as the one and only card.

Someone nicked mine . And with changing to.sync 3 in next few weeks it's not worth spending 30 quid on a new card

Has anyone a directory structure  of the sd card , bought one from fleebay, but car wont read it , ment to be f8 card , on the card it shows 2 directorys and 2 files . Has any one a directory structure  of the card so I can compare,  sent email to ebay guy  few days ago but no answer . 

as your going away in a few days, why not just use the sat nav on your phone, it will save time wasteing on how to make a sd-card nav etc, then you can enjoy fitting the new sync system in when you return 

Hi I managed to burn a sd card , it works good but doesn't show  safety cameras or roadworks.  I thought it would live update.  So it took me a long way to get to destination  and tried to take me same way back.  So I ditched it and used  Google maps,  and it took me shorter distance  . 

 

So now to get trim pieces and attempt to put in  sync 3 ( hopefully a easy upgrade)

Sync 2 has lots flaws , even radio stations don't store . When using phone and u end call the station you were listening to is cracking.  As if out of tune .
