Keyless entry....... Well exit

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 titanium x and my keyless exit isn't working, all doors, bonnet and boot are shut properly but it won't lock when I walk away. Unlocking works fine. Any ideas?

Just out of Chance, do you have the spare key? Try it with that.

Hoping someone else can chime in as I’m not too clued up on the keyless entry. Don’t the key fobs have settings on them, my key or something it’s called? Wondering if it’s that

Yeah I do, I'll try that. I don't think the my key function is related as looking at manual that's about setting speed limits etc but I'll have a look into it a bit more

Yeah that’s the one, I knew it was something personalised haha. Let us know how you get along, failing that... you could pull and reseat the fuse for keyless?

Yeah that's a good idea, or the normal is do next the battery for 10 mins lol

The amount of times I’ve pulled the battery is ridiculous. Turning it off and on again does work, honestly haha.

Never disconnected the battery before but it is normally one of the first things recommended lol

Is keyless exit even an option?
Never heard of it on a Ford Focus.

Lol, good point! I just assumed that if you can keyless in the car you could keyless out of the car :) I know when I forget to lock my car it auto locks after 5 mins and I don’t have keyless entry just keyless start.

Ford's don't do walk-away locking as Stoney says.

Well that's just silly lol

Are people getting confused (might be me).

Keyless entry, you need to touch the handle, keyless exit (might not be a thing?) You tap the lock part of the handle once or twice.

Yeah I have the same on mine (not sure its called keyless exit) one tap to lock the car or two taps to double lock and alarm.  It certainly isnt automatic as you have to manually tap the sensor pad.

The only time I've noticed auto locking is if I've used the remote fob to unlock the vehicle then not opened a door it'll relock itself within a few minutes.

My neighbour has a Renault Clio and it auto locks on walkaway.
Cool function except at petrol stations when he goes to pay & the windows are open and the alarm goes off.

If everything else fails, refer to the Owner's Guide:

Some of us are that sad that we download and read the instruction manual in that time period between buying and picking up the car 😁

I gave up doing that due to the manuals covering all models. I got excited about potential features only to then find mine didn't have it.
