2.0 focus diesel auto 2018 only when using kick down goes into limp mode and engine service now comes up stop restart and its gone can build up speed not using kickdown and it flys no problem only happens when kickdown going in next wednesday any guesses whats up?

Is this the older shape Focus not the new one? If so this will have a power shift 450 box on it. How many miles have you done as they need servicing every 3 years, 37.5k miles? I imagine you're going to have a shift solenoid code or shift fork stuck code logged. They may suggest to service the box. Could be something else entirely but that's my hunch, hope this helps!

When you floor the throttle in an auto it should immediately drop a gear or two to give you the quickest acceleration.  That's kickdown.

I drop it down into sport when I want to do that its quicker. 

I did the auto gear box reset and relearn and its been so much smoother since.
