Adam dx408
Hi to you all. Just bought a 2018 Edge St line (well late 2017 reg in 2018 according to the VIN) Just getting used to the car but one thing I have just noticed is the passenger airbag light below the screen does not turn off, the switch (key operated in door jam) is on. Is this supposed to turn off as I would think it should? If it should turn off any one else had this issue and is there an easy fix or is it back to the dealer (bought from non Ford dealer) Thanks in advance
Nick Y
I'm not sure but in my 2017 Fiesta, the passenger airbag light under the radio console is illuminated when the switch is on. If I turn the switch in the door to off, it goes out to let me know the airbag is not activated. Try turning the key in the door switch to see if it goes off. If it does, you know that it's meant to be illuminated whilst the airbag system is active.
Comares2001
Isn't it to warn you the passenger airbag is active if you are fitting a child seat ?
Trent Edge
Fords seem to be different to some cars. Where as most light up to warn you the bag is not active the Edge is the opposite. Light is on to warn it is active. So no, it doesn't go out unless airbag deactivated.
simonb65
You get a warning to tell you if it's ON and OFF (2 separate lights). One to warn you that it's ON because you can't safely fit a child seat if they are ON and one to warn you it's OFF so that you don't sit there with an inactive airbag! It's all explained in the manual!

Never switched mine off so far
