Has anyone run a rear facing dash cam on a MK4, if so how?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've put my front facing camera in without any issues, the rear one I've got fitted to the window and the cable run into the back but I wondering what the best way to get it to the front is?

2 options

1. Via the roof lining but that fills me with dread.

2. Under the rear seats and then via the ducts by the sills?

Anyone done this and how easy is it to go via the rear seats / floor / sills?

I ran mine from the boot area up the c pillar under the cover then above the doors just under the headlining . You can pull down the rubber door seal and lever up the edge of the heading easily enough.Mine connects to the front camera so this was the best way. However if you want to power it independently you can go over the inner rear wheel arch then along under the plastic covers below the doors etc, again you just lever them up  and push the cable underneath them up under the footwell side panel to the fuses. I used this route for a tracker.
