Stop start not working

My stop start has not been working, been back 3 times

Probably not this, but I know in the ST it doesn’t work in sports mode so might be the same on other models if they have a sport mode.

What's your reg date

Current mileage

Annual mileage

Approximate time/distance of journeys

Do you fasten your seatbelt?

Is your air conditioning on

Is it always not working or when you first start the car?

What have you been, told each time you have gone back?

Bad battery, low battery charge, possible battery drain, faulty BMS or BMS sensor. There's a campaign running in Finland, where they've been changing BMS's as one of the last resorts if everything else fails.

Been told I am not running the car enough,it does 20 miles 5 times a week and running about as well

Yeah that's not going to be enough to keep the battery topped up for stop/start, I was doing slightly over that mileage a week and it's worked once in 12 months, apart from a 250 mile round trip when it worked twice afterward.  It's a feature in name only in my opinion, just never works, Fords intelligent battery system is just plain dumb and ford puts the smallest battery they can get away with, leave mine a week and the auto unlock goes from all doors to just drivers door.

I still have a factory battery (2014.), and my start-stop works ok. But, if AC is working , outside is too hot, or i have under 1/4 diesel, or something like that, it will not work. My battery is always 60-70% full.

From time to time i check battery stats with Forscan lite.

Personally, i don't like that "feature", so i like to turn it off, often.

This is BS from Ford. I do less miles than you ..mines working.

another forum someone just read this and liked it.... Its about a year old and I forgotten I'd made the point. Stop start introduces and unnecessary safety risk

... I have just been driving a car with stop start and as I already knew, it just highlights how dangerous it is. In cut and thrust driving it introduces a lag in getting going. Some cars are better (merc) and others very dangerous (audi). The Hyundai DSG boxed thing I've just done 500 miles in steals a huge chunk of the safety margin I work too (by 50% to 66%), at best meaning I inconvenienced others on two occasions, in a situation where the driver may already have misjudged, it could kill someone.

Likewise. I'm not a fan of these systems and normally turn it off when I start the car. However, if I forget to do so, it invariably works, even with reduced mileage during lockdown.

I've had similar experiences when test driving VW/Audi cars with DSG gearboxes.
