Engine Cutting Out On 2.0L Turbo Diesel

I have a Mondeo Hatchback 2.0L Turbo Diesel 02 reg. A recent problem has developed that I need some help with. The car starts with no problem at all,but once moving normally after 5minutes or so the engine just cuts out. This will then continue on off for the rest of the journey. To keep going, all I do is turn the ignition off and then on and the motor fires up again and I can continue for awhile. One other significant thing that happens is when it cuts out the rev counter stays static at whatever revs the engine was doing when cutting out. Can someone please help me with this fault? I have also noted that the Glow plug light indicator also flashes.

    its indicating a fault in the system and can only be diagnosed by the computer at a garage
