Ford mondeo 2.0 TDDi Y Reg. wont start, just a clicking noise when i turn ignition?

Just put a new battery on it, just had new starter motor fitted too.

I dont have a remote key for it either, just a manual one.

Alarm went off last night and after that it wouldnt start??

I've tried disconnecting and re-connecting the battery and locking and unlocking the doors?

Any ideas?

    i know the battery and starter are new, but 'just a clicking noise' points towards a flat battery or sticking starter motor, check all leads are tight and try and check battery voltage when key is turned.
