My son has just brought a 2016 focus titanium he has linked his phone and managed to get his spotify working but when he tries to install apps it says root menu not found,  there is also icon on screen with compass icon but it doesn't work when it is pressed,  (guess this is sat nav) does he need memory card with maps installed for this to work ? And what is the issue with the root directory? I am not software savy so if anyone could give me an idiots guide of what to do or let me know if I do need maps sd card it would be fantastic help.

    I think if it's display just a compass it not nav version... I think a 2016 would be sync3 so will have android auto and carplay so much better to use a USB cable then use Google maps or Waze.

    2016 could still be Sync 2, a picture of the unit when it's powered up would make it easy to identify.
