Can’t adjust Audio volume while on Carplay.

Featured Replies

For some reason today I can’t adjust audio volume while using CarPlay It’s stuck on prompt volume.
Is there a way to change between different volumes ?
I’d been adjusting prompt volume whilst getting a prompt , never figured out how else to do it..

I have a similar thread going just a few down from this about car play freezing, in there someone mentioned holding the power button and skip track to force restart the sync system

Give this a try and see if that solves it, the ol' case of turn it off and on...

Edit, just realised you actually replied to that thread so you've probably already tried this!🤨

I tried the soft reset , no joy.
Unplugging the phone.... it all works fine on sync.

the ol’ off and on definitely works in most scenarios! Not in this case , though I’ll go back to it later ..probably fixed itself.

Yeah, I’ve used the reset a few times in the year I’ve had the car.
Have you tried the power / rewind ? I saw it mentioned, diagnostic menu ?

Its a menu where you can run speaker tests etc, and can also change the theme. I've never played with it fully (get paranoid about somehow breaking it) so have never saved any settings (if its even possible)

Anyway this video shows what I mean

I had this and I found it was caused by Waze on my iPhone - even when it wasn’t open.

Deleting Waze fixed it for me which is a shame but this was too annoying to live with!

Thanks, audio volume has decided to work again! If it plays up I’ll delete Waze , I don’t use it anyway.
How did you figure out it was Waze ? Process of elimination?

I saw this article a while back which highlighted the waze problem.

Saw some posts about it in the US on a Mustang forum which made me give it a go - it was really frustrating issue nearly always come back!

Deleting Waze has resolved the audio volume issue.

Ive noticed plugging the phone in, using Carplay for a short while then back to sync it’s lost an hour on the clock..

This was more than likely caused when you did a force restart or master reset if you tried one, took me a day or two to notice the last time I tried this..
