Loss of power? 2015 ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My 2015 Ecoboost Focus appears to have developed a fault.

In the low revs, around 2k, it feels almost like the clutch is engaging on and off while I’m accelerating. The power seems to increase and drop as if I’d pressed the clutch peddle or something. But the rev counter dips. It will do this for a few seconds and then accelerate fine again as the power picks up.

If I’m on cruise control, it cancels the cruise control.

At the higher revs there’s no issue. But the problem is more noticeable climbing up hills. I have to go down a gear sometimes to climb them and then suddenly the power is fine again.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

Clutch could be on its way out
