mk3 fordfocus power steering failure

Featured Replies

hi im hopping somebody can send me in the right direction. i have a 2011 mk3 fordfocus. over the last year we have been having problems with the power steering cutting out completly. you would have to restart the car to get the power steering to come on again. the power steering stopped working about a month ago and iv now had to buy a reconditioned power steering rack. i had it fitted in my local garage today and hows my luck. the steering still doesnt work. i had the fault codes read and these came up

u012600

u040100

u013100

the company i purchased the steering rack from said it comes programed and ready to be fitted straight into the car. if anybody has any ideas as to what to do now i would be so greatful

thanks in advance kevin

Hard to say, those DTCs suggest a communication error to the power steering module. I haven't had a lot of luck with these reconditioned racks from other companies.

Out of the 3 or 4 I've had in and fitted none of them have worked and ended up putting a genuine rack on which fixed the issue.
