2005 Mondeo - Want To Change To Single Din Radio

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Nooby on this site, tried searching but failed to find a relevant topic. Apologies if i'm repeating another thread. I have a 2005 mondeo, 1.8lt petrol zetec model. This is my second mondeo, but i want to change out the standard 6000cd headunit for an after market sony headunit (single din). I have bought everything i need, radio, all connectors, fascia adapter and head unit. Bought adapter and connectors on ebay, and headunit on pixmania. Now, have no problem taking out the existing unit, and the sony unit connects up properly, even have the remote on the steering wheel working with it, my problem is actually housing the unit, the fascia adapter i have doesnt "click" into place, and the metal housing for the unit doesnt seem to hold it in place. Has anyone done this successfully? The fascia adapter is similar to http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autoleads-fp0707-ford-mondeo-2003-2007-facia-panel-adaptor-p-1347.html

Thanks in advance,

Rob

sounds like the plate is either the wrong model for the car or some fastning is missing from the plate, try getting back to the suppliers and see if they have sent you the right plate.

Ya, i asked the seller and they said it should just clip into place. I might try picking one up at halfords, at least then i have somewhere to walk into and ask for help. :D
