P042F Stuck EGR - Fixed

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI, model year 2009 that showed me an fault code of the ECU, P042F that means something like stuck EGR valve.

So i removed the EGR valve and cleaned it out there was not much soot and reinstalled it. Worked for about 5 kilometers and then it trow the code again and derated the engine.

So i ordered a new one, Valeo was the original mounted in my car so i ordered this one from Autodoc: https://www.autodoc.se/valeo/1093917. When i got the new one i replaced it with the old one, i read online that some needed to have the valve calibrated but i tried without calibrating it and it worked good.

Just wanted share this with you guys if someone got the same code, this fixed it for me! 😀
