2007 1.6tdci IC/PATS issues

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've read through hundreds of posts here and think maybe i have the IC issue due to intermittent cutting out whilst driving. Unfortunately before i knew about the common IC fault I thought it was a loose connection, so I removed, checked and refitted every fuse and plug in both fuse boxes. Like an idiot, i didn't disconnect the battery before i did that. Now it wont even start and shows pats code 1:6. Does anyone know if what i have done can blow the PCM or IC? I cant get to the PCM due to having 4 shear bolts on the plastic cover, and I have no ides how to refit it if i drill them out. I have tried a modified ELM with foccus and forscan, but it wont connect to the car (laptop connects to the device ok). It isn't a tried and tested ELM, so i don't know that it does actually work as I've seen a few posts about dodgy ones not always working.

Any help would be a hugely appreciated. I only passed this car on to my son 4 months ago and don't want him to have to scrap it 😞
