Ignition Leads

Featured Replies

I've been replacing my ignition leads and coil on my 2006 1.4 Focus.

The replacement Bosch coil I bought was the exact same as the original, all the same Bosch markings/numbers just without the FOMOCO letters, happy days.

I bought replacement Bosch leads and they don't fit, which I'm a bit confused by. The seller asked me for my VIN to confirm as they get a lot of returns on them. They confirmed that they were the correct ones and shipped them. But they don't fit and I'm a bit confused. The end that fits over the plug and seats into the cover is too long, by I'd say 15/20mm.

I used this to confirm these were correct. I don't know what the seller used.

I purchased (and received) Bosch 0986357208.

Can any parts experts help here? I need to get a new set now and I'm not sure what to do.

Also I was pleased to get the original coil without paying Ford prices. If I could get the same leads I'd be delighted, if anyone knows what leads Ford used?

I found a few more reviews of these Bosch 0986357208 ignition leads and it appears a common complaint with certain models that the 'boot' of these do not seat into the cover like originals. No matter how hard you push them on the plug they'll still sit 10-20mm out over the cover. None of the vanes that I presume are designed to keep out moisture sit into the well.

Some people just leave them like that out but I'll replace for NGK leads.
