Radio and central display not working.

Featured Replies

Hi All.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

A few days ago both my CD player/radio and central/entertainment display have stopped working in my 2011 petrol Ford Focus estate. I assumed it was a blown fuse but both the fuses for the radio and the information and entertainment display are ok. I’ve also had the audio front out and the radio and display out to check for any loose connections, all ok. I’ve also checked between the pos and neg and getting 11v so there is power there.

My next step was to buy a new radio and display to swap them but I wondered if there was any advice, tips or guidance before I did. I’ve listed below my queries.

Although the display and radio have separate fuses does the radio control the display?

Are there any other fuses protecting the radio and/or display?

The radio part number is BM5T-18C815-XF, I’ve found plenty of radios but with different last letters, does this matter?

Any answers or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any stereo from a pre-facelift mk3 will fit. You just have to make sure the seller lists the correct features (such as SYNC, DAB, Sat-Nav etc.). In short no, the last 2 letters shouldn't matter.

Thank you for the reply and info Luke, I’ve sorted it now, I took a punt on a 2nd hand radio and display and it’s sorted it out.
