Clutch pedal and clutch not connecting

Featured Replies

Good evening,

so 1st off i would like to say this is my 1st diesel car an was told the clutch is hydraulic, so straight away im lost lol.

Basicly i was just on my way to london when i tapped my clutch an it sprung straight down and stayed there. At that time i was able to get a little bit of movement enabling me to change gear but with in 2 mins there was absolutely no use to the pedal at all. The gear box was still engaged as i was able to balance the gears between changes via the revs so it slipped in an out of gear to get me home.

what is the issue here as i thought if the clutch had gone it would just rev when in gear.

Clutch concentric (or slave) cylinder has packed in

That what i had read. On scale of 1-10, 10 bein hard. How hard would you say it is s

Its a gearbox out job. For someone who doesn't even know what hydraulics are that's an 11/10 in terms of difficulty.

You may as well get a new clutch and flywheel fitted at the same time as it won't cost too much more as the box is already out.

Either slave cylinder or master cylinder leaking, not a big job to replace.
