Help identifying rear parking sensors

Featured Replies

Before I pose my request for help I'd just like to thank people that do ask questions and post answers/guides. Has been a great help in the past and recently.

I've been following a couple of threads about installing parking sensors in a focus MK3.

Recently bought a car, sensors in the bumper but not working in the car. Assumed just a wiring fault.

After removing the bumper I found the sensors aren't connected. Looks like car had a minor accident and bumper was replaced, donor car has sensors but the damaged vehicle didn't.

I thought it was a case of plug, play, forscan and done. But the wiring looms in all the posts have 3 pin connectors and the ones in my car are 2 pin. Label on the wire says 70-01-02-a5-40. Googling 700102a540 only shows up a couple of parts for sale.

Are they the correct ones? Or do I need new sensors too?

Car is a 2012, 61 plate, zetec 125 estate in the UK.

Any help identifying if these would work is very appreciated.

I had these sensors in my rear bumper and they went with the below module. They are aftermarket ones. It would not be difficult to fit the proper ones, but you'd need to get the bumper loom as well.

Excellent, thanks for replying. Didn't think of that.

Looks they're the xvision sensors that ford fit. Was going to get a parking aid module and the loom, but looks like I'll need all the sensors too.

Not the end of the world.

I think I picked up the sensors and the loom for the rear bumper for £20 from my local scrap yard. You'll need to have a look how many terminals you have behind the trim on the driver's side of your boot. If my memory serves me right, I had to slightly alter the holes for the sensors as the ones you have at the moment will be round and the ford ones are different.  Have a look at this forum.
