Intrusion detected on Ford Connect App

Featured Replies

I have a Mk.4 Focus Titanium X 1.5 Auto Estate.

When my wife drives it and opens the tailgate, I get a notification on my phone that there has been an 'Intrusion Attempt' (seems to coincide with her locking it after closing the tailgate.

I don't have any problems!

I've watched what she does, and it all looks correct, any idea what she might be doing wrong?

The alarm doesn't sound on the car, and lights don't flash, just get a message (not a very helpful one) on the Android app.

Could it be something to do with this. I noticed an update to the Ford Pass App and this is in the change log.

If not then is the tailgate locking properly. I had to adjust the rubber bump stops on my hatchback because sometimes it did not catch properly. Screenshot_20201218-172306.thumb.png.ad321b3463a13d35a67668e65985a434.png

Interesting... I've not noticed any problem with it not latching, strange it only happens when wife has driven it! (cue jokes about handbag caught in the boot!)

I'll have a play later, maybe she isn't waiting long enough for it to close and latch before locking the doors.

Deffo this.

Theres been a few car thefts from the place I now work at on an Industrial estate so I've now put the Ford pass app back on the phone lastnight ( just incase).

On my way to work I could hear the phone bleeping in the boot and when I arrived at work it was notifying me that there had been an intrusion not once but 6 times.

1. Me opening the boot

2. Me opening the car

3. Me starting the car

4. Me opening the drivers door

5. Me opening the boot

6. Me locking the car.

Think I might have second thoughts if this how its going to be.  Would sooner play the guessing game of " is the car still there" anymore ...🙄

That is interesting, the update was offered to my Android phone on the 16th but I have not downloaded it yet because my wi-fi is a bit iffy just now.

I would have thought that there must be a way of disabling it in the settings, previously and with the version of the App on my phone it only notifies you when the Alarm is triggered.

My Ford Pass app doesn't give me detail - it plays a sound, the notification says 'intrusion attempt' (or similar), when I open the app, it just says 'something went wrong'..... Might put it on my tablet and see if it the same.

Just updated the app (what happened to auto-update??), it tells me the alarm was triggered..... I'll go and play and see if I can make it do it! (the alarm does NOT go off!)

Yeah. I hope so. Will be looking into the settings and notifications when I get home later tonight.

Just noticed the Ford Pass update says it will even alert you when unlocked. The only difference between how my wife does it and how I do it is how we raise the tailgate - I use the dash button, she uses the tailgate button.

I also use the 'hands-free' (waving my foot under the bumper) but that doesn't give the notification..

Play time...

Well, I can't make it do it!

Wife is going to try tomorrow!
