2008 Focus Speedometer issue.

Featured Replies

Could anyone help me out, my 2008 2.0tdci focus has an issue with the speedometer. Every now and then the speedometer becomes uncalibrated and is completely wrong. When I go into self diagnostic mode and perform a gauge sweep it resets itself. But its happening almost every journey I make now. If anyone could point me in the right direction as to what could be causing this to happen id appreciate it very much.

I had this problem on a 2011 fiesta . Cluster out , sprayed WD40 in the electrical connector on the back  and all sorted . I had no other warning lights on the dash , no fault codes and the Odometer was working but speedo was unreliable . Worth a try

Also make sure you battery connections are clean and not loose.
