Limp Mode Help

Featured Replies

Evening all, I am having an issue with my Ford Focus 1.0 SCTi EcoBoost Zetec, oil light is displayed even though engine oil is present, engine sounds like a bag of spanners goes into limp mode with a warning on the dash saying Engine Malfuntion Service, one I turn it off and on goes out of limp mode for about ten miutes with the engine sounding like a bag of spanners.  The car has done just over 100000 miles.  Any help or advice would be appreicated.

It's most likely knackered I'm afraid.

Oil pump blocked and restricting oil flow so there's insufficient pressure in the system.  Not uncommon on these sadly.  If it's been run for any length of time with the oil light on then there will be internal engine wear.
